Cuba Libre

Cuban Art & Artists of Havana

The People of Cuba have little in the way of material possessions, but their creativity, warmth and ability to find joy in daily life serves as an inspiration for those of us fortunate enough to spend time on this historic and magical island.

Music, dancing, and art are primary passions of the Cuban people.  Throughout Old Havana you can find a handful of large modern galleries, but every other colonial block hosts a small artist studio, where painters, sculptors and textile designers work late into the night, sipping rum to never-ending samba, salsa and reggaeton.

The curators at Our Key West (OKW) Welcome Lounge & Gallery visit Havana monthly to hang with the local artists and bring their latest creations back to Key West.  You can view this original Cuban Art at the OKW Gallery at 613 Simonton Street every day between 9am and 6pm. Or, you can join us on a private art trip to Havana. Travel 90 miles back in time with our Havana Day Trip. Flights leave at 8am and return at 6pm. Speak with your concierge for more information and availability.
